The Calle de Norte Cellar: A Modern Brick Cellar Masterpiece
Crafted for a discerning client in Arizona, this modern-transitional residential wine cellar is the result of a collaboration between the home builders, interior designers and the team at Heritage Vine. Constructed with a blend of bricks, natural white oak, and glass, it stands out as a distinctive stand alone island wine cellar. Undertaking a unique challenge, Heritage Vine positioned the cellar at the juncture of the main living areas, requiring it to be visually outstanding from all angles.
The Vision
Within the blueprints of a remodeled home, the Calle de Norte Cellar was conceived as a collaborative dream between the client, who allocated space for the cellar in the floor plans, and Heritage Vine. Positioned at the heart of the main living areas, the cellar was envisioned not merely as a storage unit but as a living piece of art, designed to captivate from every viewpoint and enhance the overall aesthetic of the residence.

The Challenge
Whilst constructing a stand alone island cellar entirely in glass presents its own set of challenges, incorporating two closed walls adds an extra layer of complexity to the design. The Heritage Vine team responded to this challenge with inventive solutions to build this unconventional wine cellar. A significant hurdle emerged in strategically placing the racking, particularly due to the window placement in the brick, which permitted light into the cellar. To guarantee optimal temperature maintenance and protect the wine collection from light, the layout of the racking demanded careful consideration from the Heritage Vine team.
Masterful Execution
Faced with these challenges, Heritage Vine crafted a bespoke wine cellar that seamlessly marries aesthetics with functionality. Natural white oak added a touch of softness, harmonizing with the brick and black aluminum framing. Whilst label display is trending right now, the designer ensured the cellar was functional by incorporating bulk storage options into the cellar's layout. The Calle de Norte Cellar emerges as a testament to the fusion of architectural ingenuity and a profound appreciation for fine wines.
Crafting Masterpieces in Wine Storage and Display
Beyond the Calle de Norte Cellar, Heritage Vine extends its legacy to commercial ventures, like the Peak Restaurant wine wall in NYC. In the world of wine storage and display, Heritage Vine's craftsmanship goes beyond trends, setting a standard for excellence. We continue to redefine the possibilities of wine cellars, crafting masterpieces that go beyond conventional boundaries.
